History:
The Erjavec hut is built on a small knoll next to the old Russian road across Vršič mountain pass at 1515 metres above sea level. It's named after the Slovenian writer and naturalist Fran Erjavec. The current hut was built on the foundation of an earlier german built hut in the 1980s.
