History
The hut was built on the southern slope of mount Golice, just above the treeline. The hut is built one the same place ad a hut built in 1892 by the Austro-German alpine society, and was known as the German hut. Because of this the Slovenian patriots in the Slovenian Alpine society decided to build their own cabin on top of Mount Golica. The Slovenian hut named after one of the founders of the alpine society Franc Kadilnik was built in 1904 and opened on the 18. of June 1905. Franc Kadilnik also contributed 7000 crowns for the building of the hut, a small fortune at the time. Between the first and second world war the huts were run by the Jesenice department of the Sloveninan Alpine society. On June 13. 1943 the partizani burnt both huts to prevent them being used as strongholds by the Nazi occupators. The Jesenice Alpine society began planing the rebuilding of the hut in 1979 and decided to rebuild the hut on the current position. The hut was built and opened in 1984 at the 60. anniversary of the founding of Jesenice Alpine society.
